Device manufacturers (especially Schneider) are increasingly using 64-bit integers for data. The present Modbus TCP driver does not support 64-bit INT so integration of these devices results in unsatisfactory limits on data. The Modbus driver needs to support 64-bit integers.

Idea business value
Any integrator that is using Schneider power meters needs a 64-bit integer model to fully connect to the meter. Lacking the feature, it is not possible to fully represent certain data in any device that uses this data type. |

Enhancing just the driver will not have any effect I'm afraid. Plant SCADA itself does not support any 64-bit data types either.
